Darting across Yorkshire

Since the acquisition of Yorkshire Tiger in August, Transdev have already been making their mark in the area. On the first day of operation, service 233 was renumbered the Denby Darts D1 with the repainted and refurbished buses hitting the road immediately.

The Team Pennine image was instantly seen with promises of more changes in the coming months. Those changes have been announced today:

Service 262

This will be a brand new service, ‘KirkheatonQuick‘ serving Kirkheaton and Huddersfield after Transdev consulted with the local community to identify the kind of service they would like to see.

Service 319

New-look buses will be branded for the newly branded ‘HuddsQuick‘ service, bringing yet more pink to the area.

Services 435/436/437

To simplify the services, all 3 routes will be merged into one route, the X1, which will cover all areas previously served by these services. Service X1 will be branded with a new ‘Holmfirth Explorer‘ name on the Team Pennine base scheme with ‘new-look’ buses.

but what about Halifax?

A customer rightly pointed out that it seems that Transdev’s main focus is on the Huddersfield area of Team Pennine; however, customer services advised them that the new buses (Mellor Stratas) will be arriving in the autumn, potentially October, to replace a lot of the ageing fleet and bring some pink to the Calder Valley.
